+ What kind of roofs can you work on?
We specialize in residential asphalt roofing.
+ I'm not close to Moscow & Pullman, will you still work on my roof?
If you're more than 30 minutes away, give us a call for a quick chat. We consider roofs farther away on a case by case basis.
If you're within 20 minutes of Moscow or Pullman, absolutely. We serve the communities surrounding Moscow Idaho and Pullman Washington.
+ How much does a roof inspection cost?
For a full roof inspection report we charge $200. That fee is credited towards the cost of a full roof replacement.
If you know that your roof needs to be replaced, a full inspection report would not be helpful to you. We can provide a quote for a full replacement at no charge.
Everything we do is with the ultimate goal of protecting homes and homeowners. We believe that the better informed you are about your roof, the better prepared you are to care for your home.
+ Can you complete a commercial roof inspection for my insurance or lease requirements.
Yes. We charge the standard roof inspection fee for inspections required for insurance requirements, commercial lease requirements, or commercial roofs.
+ How long does a roof inspection take?
A roof inspection takes ~30 minutes.
That includes time to:

- Our employees are respectful and cheerful.

- We don’t play loud or angry music at our job sites.
- We show up when we say we will.

+ How experienced are your employees & installers?
Our lead installer, Bruce, is a master roofer with over 27 years of experience installing high quality asphalt shingle roofs.
During the inspection and installation process you may also be in contact with Mark or Nethaniel.
Mark and Nethaniel have both owned their own general contracting and roofing companies and have over 50 years of experience between them spanning every aspect of roofing and construction.
+ How old should my roof be before I start worrying about it?
A quality asphalt shingle roof typically starts breaking down after 20 to 25 years.
However, we've seen roofs on new construction in Pullman break down in as little as 15 years. Many newer homes in our area were built with low quality roofing materials that degrade much faster.
If you're concerned about your roof, please give us a call to discuss your concerns.
+ Should I have my roof inspected?
If you haven't had it inspected in the past few years, it's a good idea to schedule a free roof inspection. We want you to get as much life as possible out of your existing roof and know how to prepare for its eventual replacement.
+ How much does a roof replacement cost?
The average residential roof replacement in the Moscow / Pullman area costs $15,000 to $25,000 dollars.
If you're comparing bids between different roofing contractors, consider:
- The skill and experience of their installers
- The level of accountability they hold for their work
- The quality of their materials and warranty
If cost is a concern for your new roof, please give us a call and we'll see what we can do to help. We can oftern extend the life of your roof with relatively inexpensive repairs.
+ How long does a roof replacement take?
A typical asphalt shingle roof takes 1-2 weeks to replace from start to finish.
This includes several days to tear off and dispose of the existing roofing material, repair or replace any damaged sheeting on the roof deck, prepare and install new roofing material, and clean your property of any roofing debris to leave it cleaner than when we found it.
+ How does my roof work, anyways?
You can learn more about how each element of your roofing system works together on our “Free Roof Tips” page.
+ How should I choose a roofing contractor?
When you’re choosing a roofing contractor, there are several steps to take:
- Check out what their customers are saying about them.
Many roofing contractors run fly-by-night operations and travel around the country using high pressure sales tactics to pressure homeowners into paying for work they don’t need. Others are unprofessional and won’t return your calls, don’t provide thorough quotes, use low quality materials, sloppy installation, and won’t guide you through the process. Check their reviews on Google and sites like Houzz to see if there are any red flags you should be worried about.
The fact that companies like that exist is why we started Rolling Hills Roofing. We believe that homeowners in the Moscow / Pullman area deserve better. We aim to make every roofing job easy for homeowners starting with a thorough and no-pressure inspection of your roof, plus thoughtful and ethical guidance on what is best for you and your home.
- Make sure they are registered and insured.
If an accident happens on your roof and your roofing company doesn’t have the proper insurance, you would be held liable for the cost of medical bills and damages. Your roofer should be able to provide a copy of their license and will be upfront about their registration and any certifications they hold..
Rolling Hills Roofing is fully licensed and insured, As a GAF Certified Contractor we’re trained with up to date industry information on the best way to restore or replace your roof. You can rest easy knowing that the job will be done quickly and safely by qualified professionals.
- Make sure they offer an extensive warranty on their work.
If your roof leaks or something goes wrong in a few years, your roofing company should come out and fix the issue free of charge. Make sure that your roofing company backs their work and acts with honesty and integrity.
We offer a 10-15 year warranty on all of our flat roofs. As soon as we work on a roof, we “own it” and hold ourselves responsible for the quality of our work and the safety of your home. If any issues arise with your new roof, we will come out and make things right.
We offer a 50 year limited warranty on all of our asphalt shingle roofs. We use high quality GAF shingles with extra nails holding down each shingle to gain a warranty against damage from high winds, something that is necessary here on the Palouse. As soon as we work on a roof, we “own it” and hold ourselves responsible for the quality of our work. If any issues arise with your new roof, we will come out and make things right.
